Ride to Dorrigo

Hi Boys and Girls,

In the past leaving Brisbane for the weekend and finding a great ride to a awesome destination has proven difficult. After many, many hours of hard slog, I think we have cracked it!

A great two night trip! Take a look.

Our planned trips take a holistic approach to enjoying the open road. In the future our videos will include :

  • Diet tips
  • Body tips
  • Mechanical tips
  • Financial tips
  • Fatigue management
  • Pillion tips  (Yes, there is more to being a good pillion than organising the accommodation.)

We left Friday lunch time. If you can get out of the office early and leave Friday morning then you can afford to go a less direct route to the first night’s accommodation and spend more time enjoying some of the well known roads on the Gold Coast hinterland and Northern New South Wales.

The Destination

NYMBOIDA COACHING STATION

Any weekday should be fine but if it’s a weekend escape that you are after, make sure that you plan six months ahead, otherwise you may miss out on staying at Nimboida.

After breakfast, we wandered through Russell Crowe’s amazing museum. He has donated some original movie props and costumes from his films for display, definitely worth a look.

We had morning tea and a early lunch in Dorrigo at Juan’s Cafe Del Fuego (The Worlds Smallest Motorcycle Museum).

Then it was back on the bikes. Down Hickory St ( left as you are standing out the front of the cafe ) we stopped about 1.2 km north of Dorrigo, on the Bielsdown River at Dangar Falls. This is where I took a photo with my camera phone to send to my mates back in Brisbane, so they could see what they were missing out on. (right)

Off again, heading towards Megan and Ulong through the Dorrigo National Park, not a fast route to take; a dirt road and it goes for quite a long distance (first and second gear only) but it’s OK on a high performance road bike. The scenery is simply stunning.

We eventually come across a great bike road that is well worth the price of admission. If you are worried about riding your pride and joy on dirt…get over it, they are made to be ridden! We found it had very little traffic on a Saturday, so it was a very enjoyable ride.

This brought us out at a T intersection.

Decision time. Coffs Harbour or Grafton

We turned left and headed towards Grafton.

Our preferred coastal town for a stopover was Lennox Heads and we recommend that Brisbane is quite a distance after such an amazing day in the saddle so a second night away is a safe option, or if you choose to press on make sure you are aware of fatigue management and stop BEFORE you get tired.

If you become tired, stop for a twenty minute rest, get your body horizontal and close your eyes, also a bite to eat helps. This will allow you to push on for a little while longer.

We like to have a debrief after each day to discuss what went well and what we could have done better, also view any footage that we have taken over a nice hot cup of tea or a cold beer!

From Lennox there are a wide range of options for the trip back to Brisbane….some great roads if you are looking for a less than direct route, however be mindful that speed will lighten your wallet and make for a less pleasant end to your weekend.

Proposal

I am offering an opportunity to take part in what I have been doing for years. Everyone loves to see someone rewarded for hard work and lets face it the last couple of years have been just that…hard work!

From my experience and from listening to others in my industry, it is getting harder to borrow money for business equipment. Those who would love to grow their business and ensure it succeed with more reliable equipment are being knocked back and those who would like to get a new credit card are being approved.

I would love to help, but I cannot do this alone.

I need your help…

You can get in contact with me by email below

The Facts

My reputation as a reliable bank officer, lender, finance broker, licenced motor dealer, C.Dec……and someone that’s been lending my own dough for 4 years is open to scrutiny.

I am looking for people with a self managed super fund, lending institutions, private investors that are willing to back my judgement to lend their money for a decent return. ( Reward for risk is an excellent analogy )

There seems to be very few senior bankers these days that were taught by old school bank managers how to lend money safely…….sorry it’s not in any text book they are about to read anytime soon.

We seek to assist honest and reliable business owners and in turn we will profit both spiritually and financially……..quite a good outcome really for all concerned.

As in life there are NO GUARANTEES but together we can make a difference.
